Abstract: The Faculty of Civil Engineering of the University of Zagreb cooperates with the company DIV d.o.o. on the research project "Development of the DIV elastic fastening system". To develop a new fastening system, this paper presents laboratory measurements of the characteristics of fastening systems. Significant assessment of the rail fastening system requires an understanding of its geometry, material, mechanical properties, and compatibility of the clip and rail pad. Tests on W-14 track accessories were performed in the Laboratory for Technical Mechanics of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Zagreb, according to the standards from set 13481. Test methods for W-14 fastening system will be applied for testing the new “DIV” fastening system. To develop a new “DIV” fastening system and its optimization and increased market competitiveness, fastening system need to be tested for electrical conductivity and shock load damping. This paper presents the standards that define these tests and the development of the necessary measuring equipment.
