Abstract: Cement bound base course in pavement increase its bearing capacity, provides flat surface for asphalt layers and prevent pumping material upwards. Despite all positive characteristics of this course, there are some negative effects. During hardening of the mixture, which is a result of cement hydration, material starts to shrink which induces tensile strains. As a result, cracks occurs and star to propagate under climatic conditions and dynamic traffic load. Those cracks reflect to asphalt layers. In order to prevent or minimize those negative effects, application of alternative materials is being investigated. In this paper, project RubSuPave which is carried out on Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture Osijek, is presented. Project is dealing with investigating the possibility of application of recycled rubber in pavement cement stabilized bearing courses. The objective of this project is to determine impact of recycled rubber on reflective crack occurrence in pavement.
