Abstract: The idea of this research was to investigate the possible synergy between locally available red mud, fly ash and limestone. The synergy was investigated by measuring the heat of hydration at the paste level as well as compressive strength on the mortar level. As part of the work, the concentrations activity of radionuclides in materials were examined by high-resolution gamma spectrometry, since the tested materials originate from natural ores and it is normal to expect a natural radioactivity.
